WEEK 9 Forced Connection

Combination of 2 or more unrelated things which express a new message :
I was looking around in my house to find out such examples.

lamp and clock

steam and boil in one wok.

open can and bottle cap with one tool.

opener and corkscrew

I had chosen cup as an object to be elaborated in different expression.

 cup + passionate
cup + hardworking
cup + brave
cup + greedy
cup + creative
cup + sad

and these are my new invention.

I remembered that there was a lecturer telling me that there is one problem faced by the new generation's artists:
they born late.
A lots of idea came before us. Therefore, I think it is important for us to apply forced connection in our designs so we can invent something new out of the old.

WEEK 8 Analogical Thinking 2

Analogical thinking is a skill, the more you practice , the better you know about it.
 I will say...

'' His emotion is always like a river.''

He is calm.

'' I feel as burden as the fence of love at Clark Quay!''

As you can see the condition of the fence...it almost collapses.

''As bold as a bridge!''

The bravery of crossing the river!

''As lazy as cat ''

Cats sleep 16 to 20 hours everyday.

''That nerdy girl is a durian.''

Durian does not have a good outlook but it has a awesome inner!

As PROUD as a flag !

''His characters are like glasses.''

A compliment for transparency of one's characters.

As valuable as commemorative notes.

MY GRANDMOTHER.

She is an antique. Memorable, valuable, priceless, timeless and beautiful .

Last but not least, if I am saying that you are my coffee of the day...

I swear that you have really lighten up my day.

Analogical thinking improve my imagination. I should apply this skill in my future designs.
Isn't it amazing to have a brooding ring or a revengeful necklace ?

WEEK 7 ANALOGICAL THINKING

Analogical thinking exercise based on candle, pencil and clock.

Trying my my best to make this dead object shows feeling

Is not that 7 o'clock in the morning is the saddest hour in our life?

I found analogical thinking is hard. It is challenging enough to stand in one's shoes but now I have think myself as an object.
However, I think this exercise helps me to express feeling better.
